TECH-A-THON

9th and 10th March,2022

The technology required by the participants were jQuery, JavaScript, Bootstrap, PHP and Laravel. The evaluation criteria of the event is UI/UX, responsive, dynamic, flow of code/logic and reusability of functions. The registration was free and the team size was 2 members per team. The 2 days long tech-a-thon gave participants a competitive environment to showcase their talent and enhance their skills. The students had a great experience competing with other participants. The winners will be offered with one month full time training by the company at its premises and all the participants will get participation certificates.

TECHNOVANZA

18th October, 2022 to 19th October,2022

The event's first stage consisted of a quiz where students had the opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency in web development. The next phase of the event was binary fetch where each team was presented with a group of technical puzzles and algorithmic clues which teams had to solve in order to find a piece of information to get final solution at the end of the hunt. The winners of this round were selected for the subsequent deployment round. Each team had 12 minutes in this round to work through the technical riddles and come up with an answer to the given problem sets. Further an expert talk on web development was organized for all the participants of the Technovanza. This session was led by Mr. Divyansh Chauhan, an expert in the field of software and web development. He explained students about front-end, back-end and full-stack web development and also discussed about his own startup and his experience working as a freelancer.

SYMPOSIUM on Recent Trends

11th May,2022

The event ushered with an expert talk by Mr. Manish Chopra. He gave a keynote address about serverless technologies and engaged with students on all of the symposium’s themes. Later, our next esteemed expert Mr. Vikram Verma demonstrated a live representation of his ongoing project and discussed about IoT technology. An interactive two hours session of engagement with the students about big data analytics, digital India and cloud computing was conducted. The experts evaluated the performances of the participants. The teams presented their work through posters. The experts discussed and interrogated the students regarding their respective research work. After the completion of the evaluation process, professor and dean Dr. Jaiteg Singh shared his words of wisdom. The respected dean felicitated the guests.

TECHGYANAM

12th March, 2022

The resource person of the event was Mr. Chirag Jain who is an associate consultant at Virtusa and an alumni of CA department, Chitkara University. He explained students how useful data is extracted from big chunk of data. He also discussed the skills required for the job role and told students how Java will help them in this job. He discussed about data structures and EMA system. He also told students the difference between data mining and big data. He encouraged the students to pursue career in this field. Resource persons cleared the doubts of the students and it turned out to be a very useful and informative session qui.

Workshop on CyberSecurity

2nd April, 2022

Mr. Davinder Pal Singh, Information Security Engineer, Zscaler Pvt. Ltd., who is also a Chitkara University, Punjab MCA 2018 batch alumnus, led the session. He began the discussion by describing what cyber security is and what its implications are in India. He talked about the principles of cyber security as well as numerous career options accessible in the field. The alumni urged students to improve their skills and explained how acquiring certifications from various online learning platforms aids in the development of a strong resume. He suggested students to get IBM security certifications and courses from Udemy. Students were further explained about the whole procedure of bug hunting and reporting. He discussed about bugs of session fixation and account takeovers. qui.

Tech Enclave 2021

Under the Innovative Prototypes and Business Solutions, students put forth their innovative ideas in the form of hardware/software projects. Students also competed for Coding Predators where they solved a gaming problem through writing coding. Many Students participated in Tech Bolt quiz. The valedictory session to mark the closure of the Tech Enclave 2021 was held during the second half of the day. Dr. I. S. Sandhu, Professor& Dean, Dept. of Examinations, Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Professor and Dean (PhD Program) and Dr. Jaiteg Singh, Professor & Dean, Department of Computer Applications awarded the winners of various events.

Nuances of Industrial Design

Dr. Sachin Ahuja confabulate the importance of this day and encourages all to generate and consider their ideas as an assets. He conveyed the importance of patenting and copyrighting. He also elaborated the procedure of registering the patents. He illustrated how various types of patenting can be generated. He also shown his own patents and explained how the ideas have been converted to an asset for him. Expert Talk got overwhelming response. 137 Students and faculty members including students and faculties from other universities and colleges have participated in the talk. Many participants asked their queries and cleared their doubts.

CODIGO

May 22, 2021

Computer Society of India (CSI) Student Chapter, under the aegis of Department of Computer Applications, Chitkara University, Punjab, and in association with Institution’s Innovative Council (IIC) organized CODIGO on 22 May, 2021. CODIGO was debugging based online competition in which students identified bugs in the code snippet. The domain of debugging competition was C programming and Java Script. 136 students from Department of Computer Applications, Chitkara University, Punjab participated in the event. Detail of winners of the competition is given below.

TECH-BREAK

27-28 MAY 2021

Computer Society of India (CSI) Student Chapter, under the aegis of Department of Computer Applications, Chitkara University, Punjab, organized 2-day ‘TECH BREAK’ (Break Time Activity) on 27-28 May 2021. The event was aimed to engage more and more students in fun learning and to recall the various concepts that the students learned in their current academics in more interesting ways. The Event was scheduled for every course running in the department. Different activities were scheduled for the courses like Tech-Emotions, Kriss-Kross, Emoji-I-C etc.

Intricacies of Java language

Computer Society of India (CSI) Student Chapter, under the aegis of Department of Computer Applications, Chitkara University, Punjab, organized a 5-Days hands-on workshop on intricacies of Java language. Ms. Nishu Bali, Associate professor, Department of Computer Applications was the resource person for the sessions. More than 50 students registered for the workshop. Participants were imparted knowledge on fundamentals of Java programming through Eclipse IDE. Participants showed very good response in the form of queries Overall it was a wonderful and learning experience for the participants.

Dive Into Python

The Webinar covered important features of PYTHON. The first part of the session included a presentation covering the Introduction to PYTHON, Basics of PYTHON, Its Features, Basic programming concepts including the data structures and other elements of PYTHON and Various constructs and concepts available in PYTHON. The Second Session was aimed at giving the participants an actual experience of how to do programming in PYTHON using the IDLE Editor (PYTHON SHELL). The participants were made familiar with the actual implementation of PYTHON using the said Editor. The session involved the discussion about one of the very prominent Object Oriented Languages i.e. PYTHON. Various other elementary topics related to this Language were also discussed. A total of about 30 participants actively participated in this WEBINAR.

TECHZEAL

CSI Core team members of Chapter interacted with the students and explained the roles and working of CSI Society. Glimpse of Various events held in the university also shown to the students. Core Team Members introduced themselves and shared their experience of being member of the CSI student Chapter. CSI Student Chapter counselor, Mr. Jaswinder Singh interacted with the students and motivated them to be a part of CSI society.
